Information we collect
We collect information in three general ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Site, and information from third-party services we work with.
Information you provide. When you contact us, request samples, schedule a showroom consultation, leave a comment, or fill out any form on the Site, we collect the information you submit. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, project details, and any other information you choose to share with us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and general location (such as city or region). If you leave a comment, we also collect your browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
Information from third parties. We use third-party analytics and advertising tools (described below) that may collect information about your interactions with our Site and, in some cases, with other sites you visit.
Cookies and tracking technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that helps websites remember information about your visit. Our Site uses both essential cookies (required for the Site to function) and non-essential cookies (used for analytics and advertising).
Essential cookies. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience so you do not have to re-enter your details on future comments. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we set additional cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year, and “Remember Me” extends your login for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies are removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved that includes the post ID and expires after one day.
Non-essential cookies and tracking tools. We use third-party tools to understand how visitors use our Site and to measure the performance of our advertising. These include the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, and Google Ads conversion tracking, described in the next section.
You will see a consent banner on your first visit allowing you to accept or decline non-essential tracking. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Site, which will prompt the banner to appear again. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings.
Third-party analytics and advertising
We use the following third-party services to help us understand site performance and reach the right audience:
Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram). We use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, understand how visitors engage with our Site, and deliver relevant ads on Meta properties. The Meta Pixel may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, actions taken on the Site (such as form submissions or button clicks), and a unique identifier. This data may be shared with Meta and used for advertising and analytics. For more information, see Meta’s Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. The Meta Pixel only loads if you accept non-essential tracking through our consent banner.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, content engagement, and visitor behavior. Google may collect information such as your IP address, browser, device, and pages viewed.
Google Ads. We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the performance of our paid search campaigns and improve the relevance of ads we serve.
Call tracking. We use call tracking to attribute incoming phone calls to specific marketing channels and improve our customer service. Call tracking may capture the phone number you call from, the date and time of the call, the source that referred you (such as a Google Ads click or organic search), and a recording or transcript of the call where permitted by law.
For more information about how Google handles your data, see Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can manage your advertising preferences directly through these platforms:
- Meta ad preferences: https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences
- Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com
Comments
When you leave a comment on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and your browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible alongside your comment.
Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Media
If you upload images to the Site, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors may be able to download and extract that data.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this Site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that website directly. These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, including tracking you if you have an account and are logged in.
Forms and inquiries
When you submit a form on the Site — including sample requests, consultation bookings, contact forms, or trade inquiries — we use the information you provide to respond to your request, coordinate showroom visits or sample shipments, follow up about your project, and improve our services. We do not sell the information you submit through our forms.
Who we share your data with
We share information only as needed to operate our business and as described in this policy:
- Service providers that help us run the Site, manage email, host data, run analytics, deliver advertising, track calls, and ship samples or materials.
- Meta and Google, as described in the third-party analytics and advertising section, when you accept non-essential tracking.
- Legal and safety, when we are required to disclose information by law or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of others.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads may qualify as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by declining non-essential tracking through our consent banner.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically. For users who register on our Site, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
Information submitted through contact forms, sample requests, and consultation bookings is retained for as long as needed to serve you and to maintain business records, and then deleted or archived in accordance with our internal retention practices.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this Site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Your rights under California law
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share about you.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our use of the Meta Pixel and similar advertising tools may qualify as “sharing” under the CPRA. You can opt out by declining non-essential tracking through our consent banner on the Site.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will verify your request before responding, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Where your data is sent
The third-party services we use, including Meta and Google, may process and store data on servers located outside California or outside the United States. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Children’s privacy
Our Site is intended for adults shopping for, designing, or sourcing premium stone and tile. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the technologies we use, or applicable law. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site.
